Ave Mujica’s Doloris Covers A Cruel Angel’s Thesis

BanG Dream! has released a new cover of A Cruel Angel’s Thesis performed by Doloris from Ave Mujica. The song was originally performed by Yoko Takahashi as the opening theme for Neon Genesis Evangelion and had previously been covered within the franchise by Roselia. Doloris is the stage identity of Uika Misumi, voiced by Rico Sasaki, and performs alongside the other members of Ave Mujica. The band received its own television anime, Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast, which premiered in January 2025 with animation by Sanzigen and direction by Kodai Kakimoto. A follow-up movie is scheduled for October 16 and will take place six months after the band’s comeback, while a sequel television series is planned for January 2027. The newly released cover adds another major anime theme to BanG Dream!’s catalog.
