Anime & AI News
Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine has released an animated promotional video for Gyakusatsu Kigen, also known as Genocide Origin, to mark the publication of the manga’s first collected volume. Soma Saito narrates the video, which Takehiro Kubota, director of My Happy Marriage, storyboarded. Atsushi Ikariya and Keita Shimizu provided key animation, and Yashikin composed the music. Written by Yuichiro Momose and illustrated by Shiwasu Hoshikawa, the manga is set in a Japan unsettled by frequent reports of violent crime. Its student protagonist Rakki becomes entangled with a delinquent called A and dangerous killers identified as K and D. The series began serialisation in Afternoon in May 2026. The new promotion introduces readers to its unsettling crime-focused premise.
