Rei Yasuda Shares Opening Song For Ruri Rocks Anime

Japanese singer Rei Yasuda has released the music video for her new song “Hikari no Sumika” (“Where the Light Dwells“), the opening theme for the Summer 2025 anime Ruri Rocks. The song was first released digitally on July 6th and later packaged in a double A-side single with “BROKEN GLASS” on August 27th. It draws inspiration from the manga’s themes of gems and self-discovery. Yasuda, who debuted in 2013 with Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199, also wrote the lyrics, describing them as a metaphor for finding inner strength and proof of life. The Ruri Rocks anime, adapted from Keiichiro Shibuya’s manga, premiered on July 6th, 2025, and is simulcast globally by Crunchyroll.
