Hyundai to Deploy Atlas Humanoid Robots at US Factory From 2028
Anime & AI News
Hyundai Motor Group announced plans to deploy humanoid robots at its US manufacturing plant in Georgia beginning in 2028, as part of a push to automate higher-risk, repetitive factory work. The robots are based on the Atlas humanoid designed by Hyundai’s Boston Dynamics unit and will initially handle parts sequencing before taking on more complex tasks. Hyundai aims to build a facility capable of producing 30,000 robot units annually by 2028 and expand adoption across its global sites. Officials said the machines are intended to reduce physical strain on workers, while new roles will be created to maintain and train the robots. The move reflects a broader industry trend toward physical AI in manufacturing.
