Meta Locks In Nuclear Power for Prometheus AI Supercluster

Meta announced agreements with nuclear energy companies Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo to help power its Prometheus AI supercluster under construction in New Albany, Ohio. The company said the projects could add a combined 6.6 gigawatts of power by 2035, exceeding New Hampshire’s total electricity demand. Meta will help fund Vistra’s nuclear plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania to extend their lifespans and boost output, while TerraPower and Oklo are developing new nuclear projects. Prometheus is expected to come online in 2026 and is central to Meta’s long-term AI ambitions. The company said the deals could create thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of permanent roles as it invests heavily in infrastructure to support advanced artificial intelligence systems.
