Aikatsu Stars! Anniversary Film Opens in Spring 2027

Aikatsu Stars! will celebrate its tenth anniversary with an all-new film titled Aikatsu Stars!: Hoshiboshi no Progress, scheduled for Japanese theatres in early spring 2027. The announcement arrived during revival screenings of the 2016 Aikatsu Stars! movie, accompanied by a teaser trailer and a visual featuring protagonist Yume Nijino. Television series director Teruo Sato returns to direct, while former series composer Yuko Kakihara writes the screenplay. Both creators framed the project as a hopeful continuation for longtime viewers and a new starting point for Yume and her friends. The original Aikatsu Stars! television anime ran for one hundred episodes from April 2016 through March 2018 and followed aspiring idols at Yotsuboshi Academy.
