Bones President Explains MARRIAGETOXIN Anime Appeal

Bones president and producer Masahiko Minami explained that MARRIAGETOXIN was selected for animation because its characters and unusual blend of action, comedy, and romance offered a fresh creative challenge. Speaking at Otakon 2026 with voice actor Ryotaro Okiayu, Minami emphasized the chemistry between the colorful assassins and marriage swindlers. Okiayu, who voices both the narrator and Teacher, said the series balances serious danger with humor and adorable moments, making it accessible to a broad audience. The guests also discussed favorite scenes from the first season and Okiayu’s approach to his first anime narration role. MARRIAGETOXIN Season 2 is scheduled for January 2027. Motonobu Hori directs at Bones Film, with Kimiko Ueno writing the series and Kohei Tokuoka designing the characters.
