Donutal Alien Immigration Sim Lands September 3

Arc System Works will release Donutal for PC through Steam on September 3, one day before its Japanese date, and has published a character overview trailer. Set in 2206, the immigration simulation places players in the role of Chief Extraterrestrial Counselor. They must inspect alien visitors, approve those who could advance Earth’s future and reject applicants capable of ending it. The premise and document-screening structure invite comparisons with Papers, Please, but the candidates are extraterrestrials with potentially planetary consequences. Purchases made between September 3 and November 30 will receive future access to the game’s 13-track soundtrack at no extra charge. An earlier Steam disclosure stated that some illustrations used on the in-game news site were AI-generated and then retouched, although that notice no longer appears on the store page.
