Gemini Live Launches Guided Vision Accessibility Tool
Anime & AI News

Google has launched Guided Vision in Gemini Live, giving compatible Android devices real-time visual assistance designed with blind and low-vision users in mind. When users share their camera, Gemini provides spoken descriptions of surroundings and can answer follow-up questions conversationally. The system can also give verbal guidance for repositioning the camera so an object or text is framed more clearly. Guided Vision can be activated through Gemini, TalkBack, or Android accessibility shortcuts, depending on the device. Google says the feature was developed with accessibility users and is intended as a visual interpretation aid rather than a replacement for mobility tools. The launch brings multimodal AI into a practical accessibility role where immediate descriptions, object identification, and contextual questions can be handled through a standard smartphone camera.
