MAPPA Unveils New Ranma 1/2 and Oblivion Battery Anniversary Art

MAPPA has released new anniversary artwork for Ranma 1/2 and Oblivion Battery ahead of the studio’s 15th anniversary exhibition in Tokyo. The MAPPA EXPO will run from September 16 through December 7 at the Yurakucho Museum. The Ranma 1/2 illustration shows Ranma and Akane recreating the familiar broken sandal romantic comedy situation, while the Oblivion Battery piece features Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname together on a playground after hours. Both new illustrations are also planned for merchandise that will be revealed later. Ranma 1/2 returns with its next season on October 3, while Oblivion Battery is scheduled to continue with a second television season in 2027. The exhibition celebrates MAPPA’s expanding catalog across its first fifteen years.
