Nippon Sangoku Anime Sequel Greenlit

Twin Engine has confirmed that a sequel to Nippon Sangoku The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun is in production. An announcement video was released using footage from the first television anime, but no additional details about the sequel’s format, staff, cast, or release timing were revealed. The series adapts Ikka Matsuki’s manga, set in a future Japan fractured into three rival states after civilization regresses through war, disasters, and failed governance. The first anime follows former local bureaucrat Aoteru Misumi as he uses knowledge and persuasive skill in pursuit of reunifying the country. Kazuaki Terasawa directed the first season at Studio Kafka, with Takahiko Abiru handling character design and Kevin Penkin composing the music.
