Onimusha: Way of the Sword Trailer Highlights Combat

Capcom released a new Onimusha: Way of the Sword trailer during the gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show, focusing on the game’s fast swordplay and supernatural combat. The action title is scheduled to launch September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series systems, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, moving forward from its previously announced September 25 date. A playable demo is already available. Way of the Sword continues Capcom’s Sengoku-era action series, which began in 2001 and mixes historical figures and settings with demons and other supernatural elements. The franchise recently returned through remasters of Onimusha: Warlords and Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, while a CG-derived film and a 2023 Netflix anime have also expanded the series beyond games.
