OpenAI Introduces Always-On Dots
Anime & AI News
OpenAI introduced Dots as always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra, each with its own cloud computer and access to more than 4,000 apps through plugins. Dots are designed to learn user preferences over time, work toward goals continuously, and bring completed work back for review. OpenAI describes examples including investigating software bugs, turning designs into applications, keeping project plans synchronised, preparing invoices, updating scientific analysis, and revising proposals as requirements change. Users can communicate with Dots through ChatGPT, Slack, Teams, and voice interactions, while permissions determine what they may do independently or only after approval. The rollout begins across Pro, Business Premium, and Enterprise plans in eligible markets, with specialist organisational Dots and deeper enterprise integrations planned later.
