Pui Pui Molcar is receiving a new anime special to commemorate the franchise’s fifth anniversary. Creator Tomoki Misato will return to direct for the first time since the original television season and will also write the screenplay. The announcement included a teaser trailer and a visual featuring Potato, while the story will revolve around Choco, whose birthday falls on August 10, the date of the announcement. The stop-motion series first premiered in January 2021 as part of TV Tokyo’s Kinder TV children’s program and became known for its wool-felt guinea pig cars. It later expanded through additional television material, compilation and 3DCG films, international streaming, and games. Further scheduling and story details for the anniversary special have not yet been disclosed.
