Eka Robotics raised $ 150 million in Series A funding at a reported post-money valuation of $ 1.45 billion. The startup, founded by MIT professor Pulkit Agrawal and former Google DeepMind researcher Tuomas Haarnoja, develops robot manipulation technology combining sensitive grippers and machine-learning models. TechCrunch reports that outside robotics specialists were impressed by the system’s ability to handle varied objects without being retrained for each item. The company claims its equipment can pick roughly 1,500 objects weighing up to one kilogram per hour, with a success rate above 95 percent. Those figures are company-reported performance claims rather than an independently established industry standard. Investors in the financing include Andreessen Horowitz and F-Prime, reflecting growing interest in physically capable AI.
