No Censorship for Steam Version of Blue Archive

Anime & AI News

Nexon Games has confirmed that the Steam release of its polarizing anime RPG,Β Blue Archive, was not censored, despite ongoing controversies surrounding adult content on platforms like Steam and Itch.io. The game launched on Steam on July 4th, following a short delay, which developers attributed to platform review processes and ensuring parity with the mobile version, rather than content changes. Producers Gyeong Seop An and Yongha Kim emphasized that “no modifications or censorship” were required for approval and thanked Steam for its cooperation. Known for its gacha mechanics, suggestive imagery, and school-setting cast, Blue Archive has faced criticism over character designs. Still, it continues to thrive, boasting a 92% positive rating based on over 13,000 Steam reviews. Nexon stresses the game’s intended “positive and wholesome” tone.
