NHK announced that the live-action adaptation of Keigo Shinzō’s slice-of-life manga Hirayasumi will premiere on November 3rd, airing Monday through Thursday in the “Yoru Dra” programming block. The 20-episode series will run for five weeks, with each episode lasting 15 minutes. Amane Okayama stars as protagonist Hiroto Ikuta, joined by Nana Mori as cousin Natsumi Kobayashi and Riho Yoshioka as real estate agent Yomogi Tachibana. Kana Matsumoto, Ema Kawawada, and Kōji Takatsuchi direct, with scripts by Yōko Yonaiyama. Viz Media licensed the manga in 2024, describing Hiroto as a carefree 29-year-old navigating life without conventional goals. Hirayasumi, launched in 2021, has over 1.1 million copies in circulation and multiple award nominations, and is also inspiring an anime co-produced by Viz Media.
