First Look at Death Stranding: Mosquito Anime

Anime & AI News

Hideo Kojima has unveiled the first teaser for Death Stranding: Mosquito, an anime spin-off revealed during Kojima Productions’ 10th anniversary livestream Beyond the Strand. The footage introduces a mysterious man with a slimy tentacle-like appendage on his face, first seen submerged in water before confronting eerie tar-based creatures during a Timefall storm. At one point, his appendage vanishes mid-battle. Kojima explained the working subtitle “Mosquito” hints at the character “sucking” something through the apparatus, though not blood. Directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto, the project will feature hand-drawn animation digitally assembled, with a scenario script by Aaron Guzikowski (Raised by Wolves). Separate from A24’s live-action adaptation of Death Stranding, the anime has no release date yet, but promises a strange and atmospheric expansion of Kojima’s universe.
