Waymo Announces Plans For London in 2026

Waymo has announced plans to launch its fully autonomous ride-hailing service in London in 2026, marking its first European expansion. Partnering with Moove for fleet operations, the company will collaborate with UK authorities to secure regulatory approval. Waymo’s Jaguar I-PACE electric vehicles, which are already serving millions of rides in the U.S. and testing in Tokyo, will operate through the Waymo app, complementing London’s transportation network. The company highlights safety data showing that its vehicles are involved in far fewer injury-causing collisions than human-driven vehicles. UK officials and advocacy groups, including the RNIB, praised the move for promoting accessibility, safety, and innovation.
