Cygames Establishes Cygames AI Studio Subsidiary

Cygames announced the establishment of Cygames AI Studio, a new subsidiary focused on researching, developing, and providing secure, efficient access to AI technology for game creators. The subsidiary was founded in December and is based in Shibuya, Tokyo. Eitoshi Ashihara serves as CEO, with Masaru Kanai and Shuichi Kurabayashi as Directors and Ryohei Okuma as Auditor. Cygames stated that its goal is to demonstrate what creative professionals can achieve with AI. The announcement follows CyberAgent’s April 2024 in-house guidelines on generative AI usage, which emphasize copyright protection, data security, and treating AI-generated output as a starting point rather than a finished product.
