Dentsu Backs AI Anime Startup KaKa Creation

Dentsu Ventures Fund II has invested in KaKa Creation, a Tokyo-based startup specializing in AI-powered anime production and content services. Founded in 2023, KaKa Creation develops tools to streamline animation pipelines and expand short-form anime distribution across platforms like YouTube and TikTok. The company produced Twins Hinahima, Japan’s first fully AI-assisted TV anime, and is now developing Toiro AI, a system designed to replicate an artist’s unique linework and style while reducing production time. Emphasizing a “Supportive AI” philosophy, KaKa aims to empower creators rather than replace them. Dentsu Ventures’ backing will accelerate KaKa’s expansion and foster collaboration in AI-driven content creation, potentially transforming workflows and creative practices within Japan’s animation industry.
