Elon Musk’s Grokipedia Takes on Wikipedia with AI

Elon Musk’s company xAI has launched Grokipedia, an AI-generated online encyclopedia positioned as a rival to Wikipedia, which Musk claims is “controlled by far-left activists.” The site, powered by Musk’s AI assistant Grok, debuted with over 885,000 articles, far fewer than Wikipedia’s seven million, but Musk promises a “1.0 version” that will be “10X better.” He described Grokipedia’s mission as pursuing “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” Critics argue that Grokipedia’s content still depends on human-created sources like Wikipedia. The Wikimedia Foundation emphasized that its encyclopedia remains “human and transparent.” Grokipedia has gained praise from several right-wing commentators, including Russian ideologue Alexander Dugin, who called his Grokipedia entry “neutral and objective.”
