Google Opens AI Video Generation in Vids to Everyone

Google Vids is now free for anyone with a Google or Google Workspace account, expanding access beyond paid Workspace subscriptions. The service includes Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, letting users generate video clips from prompts, extend existing scenes while preserving characters, settings and lighting, and set precise clip lengths. Users can generate new scenes in 1080p and upscale existing AI footage to HD. Templates can also turn product photos and other material into finished videos more quickly. Google plans to add Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite text-to-speech for voiceovers in more than 100 languages. AI-generated footage includes SynthID watermarking. Paid Google AI plans will offer higher generation limits, while Workspace Business and Enterprise customers receive additional capacity and administrative controls.
