The Haikyu!! Bakemonotachi no Ikutokoro special anime received a new action trailer along with a teaser visual and separate visuals for Fukurodani Academy and Mujinazaka High School. The story focuses on the Spring Tournament quarter-final between the two schools and their respective aces, Kotaro Bokuto and Wakatsu Kiryu. The special is scheduled to broadcast in 2027, the same year that Haikyu!! VS Little Giants will open in Japanese theaters. Susumu Mitsunaka directs and writes both projects, with Production I.G handling animation. The new special continues the anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate’s volleyball manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. The television anime began in 2014 and has four seasons, while Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle opened as the first part of the concluding film project in 2024.
