Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple 2 Launches Volume 1 With New Trailer

Shun Matsuena’s Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple 2 – Master Arc released its first collected manga volume in Japan on August 18, accompanied by a new promotional trailer from Weekly Shonen Sunday. The sequel began serialization on the Sunday Webry platform on March 25, 2026 and continues the story of Matsuena’s original martial arts manga. The publisher also released the first two volumes of a new collector’s edition of the original Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple series on the same day. That edition will condense the previously published 61 volumes into 13 larger books, with one new collector’s volume planned each month from volume three onward. The franchise previously received a 50-episode television anime from TMS Entertainment and an 11-episode OVA series produced by Brain’s Base.
