Samsung Targets 800 Million Gemini Powered Galaxy AI Devices In 2026
Anime & AI News
Samsung plans to double the number of mobile devices shipping with its Galaxy AI features to 800 million units in 2026, up from about 400 million. The features rely heavily on Google Gemini, alongside Samsung’s own Bixby for selected tasks. Co-CEO T.M. Roh said Samsung aims to apply AI across all products, functions, and services, including phones, tablets, TVs, and home appliances, as it tries to regain smartphone leadership from Apple and resist Chinese rivals. He also warned that a global memory chip shortage is pressuring device margins and could force price increases. Market trackers expect smartphone shipments to soften, while foldable adoption remains slower than hoped. Samsung still expects foldables to reach the mainstream within two to three years. Shares rose on Monday.
