VA Akari Kito Stars In Sakuma Confectionery’s Ichigo Milk Commercial

Voice actor Akari Kito (known for Nezuko in Demon Slayer and Kotoko in In/Spectre) stars in a new web commercial for Sakuma Confectionery’s iconic Ichigo Milk (Strawberry Milk) candy. First launched in 1970, the product celebrates its 55th anniversary this year with the campaign “Tokimeki Update Daisakusen” (Heart-Pounding Update Operation). The commercial recreates the nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, featuring Kito in a Seiko Matsuda-style hairstyle and idol outfit, surrounded by strawberries in a retro-styled room. The spot pays homage to the candy’s original advertisements while updating its charm for a new generation. The 55th anniversary also introduces a commemorative package illustrated by Tanaka, alongside promotions highlighting Ichigo Milk’s enduring legacy as Sakuma’s signature sweet.
