YouTube Unveils Free Use of Veo 3 Fast in Shorts, Edit With AI, & Speech to Song

YouTube announced a suite of new generative AI tools at Made on YouTube 2025, aiming to make video creation more accessible and playful. Partnering with Google DeepMind, YouTube is rolling out Veo 3 Fast, a video generation model for Shorts that creates 480p clips with sound in seconds, now available in select countries. Upcoming features include motion transfer to animate photos, style transformations like pop art or origami, and the ability to add objects via text prompts. Edit with AI will automatically assemble first-draft videos with music, transitions, and voiceovers, available in English and Hindi. Speech to Song, powered by Lyria 2, transforms dialogue into musical remixes. All AI-generated outputs will carry SynthID watermarks and labels.
