Amazon Adds Scam Detection to Alexa for Shopping
Anime & AI News
Amazon is adding scam detection to Alexa for Shopping, allowing customers to check whether suspicious emails, text messages and other communications actually came from the retailer. The feature is aimed at a common form of fraud in which attackers imitate familiar companies and use fake order notices, account warnings or delivery messages to pressure people into clicking malicious links or sharing information. Instead of requiring users to judge a message by appearance alone, Amazon’s shopping AI can verify whether the communication is genuinely sent by the company. The feature turns an AI shopping assistant into a security tool and a product-discovery service. It also shows how consumer AI systems are expanding into practical verification tasks that rely on access to trusted account and transaction context.
