Aniplex Announce New Hana-Kimi Anime to Debut in January 2026

Aniplex announced that the long-awaited TV anime adaptation of Hisaya Nakajo’s classic shōjo manga Hana-Kimi (Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e) will debut in January 2026. The reveal came during Aniplex Online Fest, which also unveiled a key visual and confirmed YOASOBI will perform both the opening and ending theme songs. Natsuki Takemura directs the anime at Signal.MD, with Shigeru Ueda as assistant director, scripts by Takao Yoshioka, character designs by Shi Yi Su, and music by Masaru Yokoyama. The cast includes Aya Yamane as Mizuki Ashiya and Taku Yashiro as Izumi Sano, among others. Crunchyroll will stream the series internationally. Nakajo’s manga, serialized from 1996 to 2004, inspired multiple live-action adaptations in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan before her passing in 2023.
