Artificial Teaser Casts Andrew Garfield as Sam Altman

The first teaser for Luca Guadagnino’s Artificial shows Andrew Garfield portraying OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman in a dramatization of the company’s 2023 leadership crisis. The film follows Altman’s abrupt firing and reinstatement during a struggle over control of OpenAI and its technology. Yura Borisov plays co-founder Ilya Sutskever, while Ike Barinholtz appears as Elon Musk, with Monica Barbaro, Cooper Hoffman and other actors rounding out the ensemble. Amazon MGM Studios dropped the project in June after announcing a major OpenAI partnership, and Neon later acquired the film. Artificial is scheduled to premiere at the New York Film Festival in October before a United States theatrical release on December 25, 2026.
