Berkshire Issues Warning Over AI Deepfakes Impersonating Buffett

Berkshire Hathaway has warned that AI-generated videos and voice recordings are circulating online that impersonate its longtime CEO, Warren Buffett, and offer investment advice he never gave. The firm said the visuals often look like Buffett but the audio uses a generic voice and is clearly not his. One example titled “Warren Buffett: The #1 Investment Tip For Everyone Over 50 (MUST WATCH)” was flagged. Berkshire stressed that less-familiar viewers could be misled into believing the content is genuine. Buffett, aged 95, is already recognised as the “Oracle of Omaha”, and the company said the rise of these deepfakes poses risks of misinformation and reputational damage.
