Cybercab In Traffic: Tesla Robotaxi Tests Surface In Austin

Anime & AI News

Tesla’s Cybercab robotaxi prototypes are now being spotted in everyday traffic in Austin, Texas, a sign the company is pushing testing beyond closed tracks. Social posts highlighted by Digital Trends show multiple vehicles navigating regular streets, sometimes in pairs, which hints at coordinated fleet behavior trials. The Cybercab was revealed in 2024 as a purpose built autonomous ride hailing vehicle, intended to drop traditional controls such as a steering wheel and pedals. Tesla is gathering real world data that engineers and regulators care about, while signaling progress toward a planned production start at Gigafactory Texas around April 2026. Major hurdles remain, including safety validation and approvals, but the frequent sightings suggest the rollout is moving from concept to street level reality in coming months.
