Anime & AI News
Meta Platforms announced it is acquiring the Singapore-based AI startup Manus in a deal reportedly worth around $2 billion, bringing high-performance autonomous AI agent technology into Meta’s product ecosystem. Manus gained rapid attention in 2025 for its advanced general AI agents that can independently perform complex multi-step tasks like research, planning, coding, and analysis, moving beyond standard chatbot interactions. The startup grew quickly after its launch, gaining millions of users and exceeding $100 million in annual revenue. Meta intends to integrate Manus’s agent capabilities across platforms such as Meta AI, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp while allowing Manus to continue operating independently. This strategic acquisition reflects Meta’s broader push to lead in AI agent innovation.
