Alphabet’s Google will invest $9 billion in Oklahoma over the next two years to expand cloud and AI infrastructure, including a new data center campus in Stillwater and an expansion of its Pryor site. The move comes as Big Tech accelerates data center spending to meet surging AI demand and U.S. onshoring pressure. Part of the investment is covered under Google’s 2025 capex plan, which rose to $85 billion last month. The company also pledged $1 billion toward AI education and training, with more than 100 universities participating. Rivals such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon, and Apple are similarly ramping up AI and infrastructure spending, as U.S. firms race to compete with Chinese challengers.
