Instinct Adds AI Agent to Group Chats

Anime & AI News

Instinct is bringing its AI agent into group chats so friends can use a shared assistant for planning trips, buying event tickets, running fantasy leagues, organizing carpools and coordinating gatherings. The feature will work even when some participants do not have Instinct accounts. Each group receives a separate agent, while users’ personal agents remain isolated from the shared chat unless permission is granted. Founder Noah Shinn says personal agents must ask before sharing private information or taking actions for a group, and users can revoke trust at any time. The launch expands competition in consumer AI agents as Meta develops Muse and OpenAI offers ChatGPT Dots inside collaborative Spaces. Instinct is betting that group coordination can become a practical use case for agents without giving the shared assistant unrestricted access to personal accounts.
