Marriagetoxin, Shonen Jump’s 2022 breakout manga hit, has officially been greenlit for an anime adaptation, slated for release in 2026. Produced by Bones Film (My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Bungo Stray Dogs), the series follows assassin Hikaru Gero of the Poison Clan. Pressured to marry so his sister, already in a same-sex relationship, won’t be forced to bear an heir, Gero enlists marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki to help him navigate romance despite his social ineptitude. Their unlikely partnership, born from Gero’s initial assassination attempt on Mei, evolves into comedic, action-packed misadventures featuring eccentric assassins, including shark riders and insect users. With 141 chapters available and cast leads Haruki Ishitani (Gero) and Shion Wakayama (Mei) confirmed, anticipation is high.
