Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, one of Crunchyroll’s biggest anime hits of 2023, is officially returning with season 2 in January 2026. Studio MAPPA released a new trailer via Crunchyroll, promising sharper visuals, darker storytelling, and high-intensity battles. The footage highlights Gabimaru’s struggle for survival in the deadly realm of Shinsenkyo, blending his encounters with monstrous foes with his emotional conflict over his wife. Fans critical of season 1’s uneven animation quality appear reassured by the trailer’s fluid, cinematic look. MAPPA also unveiled new character designs and confirmed additional cast members: Ryota Suzuki (Shugen), Koji Yusa (Jikka), Maaya Uchida (Kiyomaru), and Sayaka Ohara (Isuzu), alongside the returning core cast. With director Kaori Makita and the original creative team back, season 2 is set to be one of 2026’s most anticipated anime premieres.
