Opera has launched Opera Neon, a subscription-based “agentic browser” designed for AI power users. Unlike traditional browsers or simple AI chat integrations, Opera Neon uses built-in AI that can execute tasks, write code, and act directly within the browsing environment. Its core innovation is Tasks, self-contained workspaces where AI understands context, analyzes information across multiple sites, and performs actions on the user’s behalf. Neon also introduces Cards, reusable prompt templates that simplify repetitive workflows, and Neon Do. This AI function can open, close, and navigate tabs locally without sharing passwords or relying on cloud access. Developed by Opera’s long-standing browser team, Neon combines advanced AI with the company’s legacy features, aiming to redefine productivity and professional workflows online.
