Studios Behind Sekiro: No Defeat Anime Stress No AI Was Used
Anime & AI News
The studios behind Sekiro: No Defeat, the upcoming anime adaptation of FromSoftware’s acclaimed game, have confirmed the series is entirely “hand-drawn 2D animation,” directly addressing speculation that AI was involved. Following the trailer’s release, fans debated whether AI had been used, prompting Qzil.la, ARCH, and Kadokawa to state the anime’s official Twitter. They emphasized that no generative AI tools were used in production, assuring viewers that the artistry and precision of the original game would be faithfully preserved. While many welcomed the clarification, others lamented that such reassurances are now necessary, citing misinformation and skepticism toward modern anime production. Directed by Kenichi Kutsuna, the series will debut on Crunchyroll in 2026, following Wolf’s crimson-soaked quest.
